Bra Size
How to measure: (* for the best results, measure yourself wearing an unpadded
bra.)
Step 1: Band Size (underbust measurement)
Use
a soft tape measure to measure around the ribcage directly under the bust. The
tape should rest on the lower band of your bra. Be sure the tape is smoothly
across the back and in level with the front. Before you read the number on the
tape measure, make sure your arms and shoulders are relaxed.
- Add 4 inches - if the measurement obtained is an even number of inches.
- Add 5 inches - if the measurement obtained is an odd number of inches.
(For example, if your underbust measurement is 28”, your band size is
28”+4”=32”; If it is 29”, your band size is
29”+5”=34”)
Step 2: Cup Size (overbust measurement)
Measure the fullest part of your bust line by holding the tape measure straight
by not tight. The difference between two measurements is your cup size. Each
inch of difference equals one cup size as follows:
- 1” = AA cup
- 1” = A cup
- 2” = B cup
- 3” = C cup
- 4” = D cup
- 5” = DD cup
- 6” = E cup
- 7” = F cup
- 8” = FF cup
- 9” = G cup
(This method is for guidance only, and results may vary slightly on different
people.)
Choosing Colours
Hair colour and skin tone are important factors while choosing lingerie colour,
some examples are shown below:
- Blondes look great in the colour Black and in all shades of Blue.
- Redheads look stunning in all shades of Green including Teal, and usually also look great in Pink and other Pastel tones.
- Brunettes are a natural in both White and Red, and sometimes even Black, depending
on the skin tone.
Choosing Styles
Different types of lingerie can be worn to compliment your body shape, some
examples are shown below:
- Babydolls & Short Chemises show off
nice legs.
- Halter Tops play up good coverage.
- Bustiers provide extra lift to the breasts as well as shaping the waist.
- Corsets can knock off 2 to 4 inches off the waist measurements, depending
on how tight you are wearing it.
- Balconettes create a great cleavage and a beautiful frame-like effect.
Remember, you look sexy if you feel good, so go for something you feel comfortable
in. Your lingerie drawer is as important as the wardrobe of clothes, so lingerie
in different colours and styles are essential for all occasions.
Choosing Stockings and Tights
- Print stockings can be worn with plain outfit.
- Fishnet stockings and tights can be worn alone, or over solid colours. Sexy
fishnets with tall boots and a cut knee-length skirt will make you look stunning
and classy.
- Brightly coloured tights are a bold and dynamic look. Extremely bright stockings
and hosiery look great when worn with shoes and clothes in neutral and muted
shades.
- Neutral, or grey tone patterned and textured tights can create a sophisticated
look. For best results, make them the only pattern in your whole outfit. Stockings
like these are beautiful with natural, dark, rich and muted shades.
